Safety & DOT Compliance Specialist

A carrier does not lose its operating authority overnight. It loses it through months of small things nobody reviewed: unassigned driving segments, log edits never confirmed, a quarterly filing that slipped, a medical card that expired while everyone was busy. This desk is the review nobody else performs.

You will cover compliance across several client fleets, which means dozens of trucks and drivers with their own deadlines.

What you'll do

• Review ELD logs daily for hours of service violations, unassigned driving time, and form and manner errors, and get them corrected while correction is still allowed
• Prepare and file IFTA quarterly, reconciling fuel receipts against reported miles by jurisdiction
• Maintain driver qualification files, and warn the carrier before a medical card, CDL, or MVR review expires rather than after
• Monitor CSA scores by BASIC and raise it early when a category starts trending the wrong way
• Assemble documentation and corrective action plans ahead of DOT audits and new entrant safety audits
• Track drug and alcohol testing program deadlines and random selection cycles
• Keep UCR, MC authority, and state permits current across the fleets you cover
• Send each carrier a monthly compliance summary written so a truck owner can read it without a compliance background

What you need

• Two or more years in compliance, audit, quality assurance, or regulatory work, in any industry
• Genuine comfort reading rules and applying them literally
• The temperament to hold a position when someone would prefer you overlook something
• Good written English for filings and carrier correspondence
• Organization strong enough that a rolling calendar of deadlines across dozens of trucks does not intimidate you
• Availability Sunday through Thursday, Amman office hours

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations, especially Parts 390 through 396
• Hands-on time with an ELD platform such as Motive, Samsara, or Omnitracs
• IFTA or fuel tax filing experience
• Exposure to a DOT audit from either side
